Barrhead St. Andrew’s Church is blessed by having a very friendly, welcoming, enthusiastic and hard working Guild. We meet on Monday afternoons at 1.30pm in the Westbourne Room and would love to see you there. Please speak to Guild convener Cath McGrath for more information.

What do we do at our meetings?

It’s well known that Guild ladies are good at hosting Coffee Mornings and baking, but that’s not all we’re good at. The Guild movement throughout Scotland is at the forefront of many worldwide problems and raises thousands of pounds each year to help several causes.

The Guild was one of the first organisations to highlight F.G.M., and to take action, to talk freely about Mental Health, to provide solar power to help irrigation in Malawi, to help teenage mothers in Zambia and to provide funding for a Chaplain in all our ports in Scotland.

During the session we meet other Guilds from Paisley and surrounding areas and there is our annual Gathering in Dundee in September when Guilds from all over Scotland meet up. The Guild’s other great talent is chatting, and at these meetings we have plenty of opportunity to do that.

As we look forward to each year ahead and wonder what challenges it will bring us, we always remember the Guild Motto “Whose we are and Whom we serve”
