The Sunday after Easter is traditionally known as Low Sunday – a contrast to the glorious celebration of the previous week. Sometimes we can experience a dip in our faith levels following an intense experience of God. At the beginning of today’s reading, the disciples were still locked away in fear and waiting on what might come next. Then suddenly Jesus appeared in the midst of them and blessed them with his peace and the gift of the Holy Spirit. We read that the disciples were overjoyed and re-energised for the mission that lay ahead of them. May we too experience Jesus coming to us in a fresh way after the joy of resurrection, and re-energising us for our mission here in Barrhead.
