Just do it
So we'll probably end up getting taken to court by Nike for using the phrase "just do it" on our website (famous last words). To be fair, it's a common phrase and we're certainly not using it to advertise anything. It just popped into my head as I was sat in front of my laptop staring at a blank screen and wondering what on earth I was going to write on this shiny new blog. I've been racking my brain for inspiration, and then the words "just do it" floated to the surface of my murky inner consciousness. Sometimes I guess that's what we all need to do - just get on and start doing something, and slowly it starts to feel a bit less intimidating and a bit more possible. I'm sure all of us have faced plenty of challenges this past year where we've had to learn how to do new and sometimes scary things. And that's not always easy, especially when the challenges just seem to keep on coming! Let's take just a few moments today to reflect on all the new and scary things that we've tackled this past year, and to celebrate our resilience and our resourcefulness as human beings. It might not feel like that just now as we continue to struggle through the dying embers of this miserable year, but it's important that we give ourselves credit for the things that we have achieved. And as we continue to look ahead to an uncertain future and to yet more challenges facing us all, let's take comfort today in these words from the Bible: "I can do all this through him who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13).
